This past December my 11 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It was a shock to say the least but we are learning how to deal with it. He has been so strong and has taken it like a trooper. As a parent it is so scary to have a child diagnosed with a chronic, potentially dangerous disease. We are blessed to be living in the times that we are because way back before insulin therapy most types 1's didn't live past 2 years!!! That is very scary to think about!! My wife Erin and I have started a team called Ian's Troopers and we plan on being very proactive in the fight to cure this disease for Ian and others like him.
